HiTRUST Returns to Singapore FinTech Festival 2024

This November, HiTRUST proudly returned to the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), one of the most significant finance innovation events. As part of the Taiwan Pavilion organized by FinTechSpace Taiwan, HiTRUST showcased its cutting-edge solutions alongside fellow Taiwanese innovators.

With solid backing from FinTechSpace Taiwan, HiTRUST joined the Pavilion to represent the nation's growing presence in the global fintech landscape. As an active member of the Association, we deeply value the opportunities to collaborate and exchange ideas with fellow exhibitors, visitors, and SFF 2024 allowed us to deepen these connections internationally.

SFF remains a cornerstone for fintech innovation, drawing thousands of leaders, policymakers, and tech enthusiasts worldwide. Known for its comprehensive agenda, prestigious speakers, and innovative showcases, SFF attracts over 60,000 attendees annually.

This year's SFF 2024 showcased exciting fintech updates, where Visa partnered with Tencent to pilot palm payment checkout in Singapore, offering faster and secure onsite payments; Mastercard launched Pay Local, enabling cardholders to link their cards to local digital wallets for seamless global transactions; and Namibia also embraced open banking, building a transparent system for safer and smoother financial services.

We introduced an upgraded, user-centric demo site at this year's festival. The showcase featured:

• FIDO Passwordless Authentication: delivering seamless, secure login and payment experiences.

• HiTRUST AI Risk Detection: combining advanced machine learning to analyze user behavior and detect potential scammers.

• EMV 3-D Secure (SPC compliant): ensuring advanced online credit card payment security.

Our team welcomed visitors from North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, engaging in meaningful discussions about securing digital payments in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Expert Insights at SFF 2024

On the second day, one of our experts, Ms. Joy Li, delivered an engaging speech on the growing vulnerabilities in traditional authentication methods and the rise of Passkeys as a global standard for secure digital transactions. During her talk, Ms. Li emphasized how Passkeys can be implemented across various parts of the payment journey, from account logins and payment authentication to replacing SMS OTP in 3-D Secure payment card flows. She believes businesses must prioritize adopting advanced authentication solutions like Passkeys to strengthen security and enhance user trust, ensuring a safer digital future for all stakeholders.
